What Earth Pulse combines
Earth Pulse v1 is a GeoLira authored 0-100 index. Base weights are Schumann Activity Index 30%, Kp 21%, IMF Bz 14%, solar-wind speed 15%, solar-wind density 5% and solar X-ray flux 15%. The weights sum to 100%, but a missing component is not inserted as a zero value.
Component normalization
Kp maps from 0-9 to 0-100. For Bz only the southward component raises the score: Bz >= 0 nT maps to 0, -10 nT to 50 and -20 nT or lower to 100. Solar-wind speed is scaled across 300-800 km/s, density across 1-20 cm-3, and X-ray flux is mapped logarithmically from A1 to X1. These are product rules, not new physical units.
Coverage, confidence and the Earth Pulse boundary
Coverage is the sum of usable component weights and confidence incorporates quality and freshness. The result is UNAVAILABLE below coverage 0.60 or confidence 0.50. It is PARTIAL when the minimum gate passes but coverage is below 0.90 or confidence below 0.75. AVAILABLE requires both higher thresholds. Without certified Schumann the maximum coverage is 0.70, so a legitimate PARTIAL result is possible. Earth Pulse is not Hz, a medical signal or a consciousness meter.
