Solar Activity is a dedicated GeoLira view for this part of the observatory. It combines the route-specific interface with the same source, freshness, privacy and evidence boundaries used across the platform.
Solar activity has several independent indicators
Sunspot number, F10.7 flux, X-ray emission, flares and CME describe different aspects of solar activity. F10.7 and sunspot number provide broader activity context, X-ray responds quickly to flares, and CME describes an eruption of plasma and magnetic field. They should not be collapsed into one common level without explicit methodology.
GeoLira uses providers according to their roles
GFZ supplies approved observed F10.7 and sunspot values, NOAA GOES measures X-ray and particles, and NASA DONKI supplies structured flare and CME events. Each source keeps its source_id, timestamp and quality state instead of being relabeled as one anonymous Solar source.
One solar event does not determine the outcome at Earth
A strong flare does not guarantee an Earth-directed CME, and a fast CME does not guarantee a specific geomagnetic-storm level. Geoeffectiveness depends on trajectory, magnetic structure and interplanetary conditions. Solar Activity provides context rather than one deterministic indicator of future impact.
